Apprenticeships with Army

There are a wide range of Army Apprenticeship roles available in a wide variety of functions across the organisation. An Army Apprenticeship will fit around your military training and be closely related to your specific role.

The British Army is one of the most highly regarded and best equipped armies in the world. It is proud of its heritage delivering success in combat through the courage and absolute commitment of its soldiers.

A standing Army provides a depth of resources which are available for non-military activities when required. As well as conducting complex war fighting, the same highly trained soldiers welcome you to the Olympics, deal with floods and train partner forces abroad.

The British Army is your Army. In an uncertain world it is ever vigilant. The Army is always ready and steadfast in its commitment to the defence of the United Kingdom and its citizens.

However, the British Army does not simply react to world events. It is constantly in action around the world to help shape the environment and prevent conflict in the future. For example, the Army works with partner nations in Iraq and Afghanistan to deliver world class training and assistance. The Army also reassures allies with soldiers deployed in Eastern Europe, or supporting the fight against poaching in Africa.

It is also in the UK’s interest to tackle the causes of instability, fragility and conflict, and to respond rapidly to prevent them. Or deal with the instability and conflict that can emerge. The British Army is currently active across the globe on numerous overseas operations.

Whether at home or abroad, the Army is always ready to provide assistance in response to a large scale emergency. From floods in the UK, to humanitarian assistance overseas in Africa following the Ebola outbreak, or the Caribbean after the hurricanes, the British Army are ready to meet every challenge.

The Army is also the Nation’s insurance policy, responding to a wide range of tasks, often at very short notice. It is always ready to respond to crises in the UK or overseas such as natural disasters.

However, the Army is distinct from the RAF and Royal Navy because tasks are always delivered directly by soldiers through human interaction. Army soldiers have to make life-critical decisions and take purposeful action in sometimes hostile, confusing and unclear situations that occasionally test to the limit of human endurance. The Army training, development and preparation is personally rewarding but also ensures the organisation is united by common values and strong bonds, and will take the right course of action even under the most difficult circumstances.
