Apprenticeships with AutoRaise Vehicle Repair
AutoRaise offers a range of Apprenticeships on behalf of a network of independent vehicle repair businesses throughout the UK.
The AutoRaise initiative originated in early 2012 through a collaboration between Fix Auto Dagenham and Barking & Dagenham College. Bringing together a number of the South East’s leading vehicle repairers, AutoRaise has created a new Apprenticeship Standard, designed BY Repairers FOR Repairers, under the Government’s self-policing Trailblazer programme. Following comprehensive industry and BIS consultation, this AutoRaise Standard was signed off by Government in November 2015.
AutoRaise has evolved from a working group of like-minded vehicle repairers who saw the need to create a modern Apprenticeship Standard, to a charitable organisation with a single, focused purpose: to promote the industry as a sustainable, attractive and rewarding place to work. AutoRaise aims to bring new blood into the industry, specifically engaging young people aged between 13 and 24, and to help employers nurture their Apprentices into qualified talent – the future owners, managers and leaders in the industry. AutoRaise became a Registered Charity in October 2016.
Quite simply, the Vehicle Repair industry is what drives Britain! From Minis to Porsches, from motorbikes to camper vans, from taxis to lorries and emergency vehicles, AutoRaise partners repair accident damage to the highest manufacturer’s safety standards to get drivers back on the road with the minimum of disruption.
Bodyshop owners invest heavily in the latest equipment, ongoing technical training and customer service initiatives to ensure their high standards are maintained and consumers kept happy. This is a high-volume industry, with some big repairers processing over 100 cars every week.
It takes many different people to run a bodyshop and they are not all technicians. With admin staff, finance assistants and managers equally as valued as technicians, there really is a place for everyone in Vehicle Repair. Examples of job roles within the vehicle repair industry include:
- Vehicle Damage Assessor
- Panel Technician
- Spray Painter
- Mechanical & Electrical Trim Technician
- Multi-skilled Technician
- Customer Service Assistant
- Finance Assistant
- Bodyshop Manager
