Apprenticeships with BAE Systems
There are a wide range of BAE Systems Apprenticeship roles at BAE sites all across the UK. These include roles in Engineering, Design, Business, Finance as well as Manufacturing. You can apply for a BAE Systems Apprenticeship at one of four levels, depending on whether you have 3 or 5 GCSEs, or also have A Levels.
BAE Systems is a global defence, aerospace and security company with more than 60 sites in the UK. Worldwide, BAE employs more than 80,000 people – nearly half of those work in the UK. BAE Systems designs and builds a wide range of products for the UK’s air, land and naval forces. It also provides advanced electronics, security, IT, and support services for the defence industry.
As well as the UK, other key markets for BAE Systems include Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, and the USA. BAE Systems is present in sectors such as: Future Technologies; Air, Land and Sea; Cyber Security and Intelligence; Electronics; and Services.
BAE Systems Apprenticeship
There are more than 2,000 people on a BAE Systems Apprenticeship at any one time. The BAE Systems Apprenticeship programme has more than 25 roles, in technical, engineering, business, project management, cyber security or finance.
As a BAE Systems Apprentice, you will be based at one of BAE’s 60 sites across the UK. These include place such as: Barrow, Frimley, Glasgow, Humberside*, New Malden, Portsmouth, Preston, and Warton / Samlesbury. *The Aircraft Maintenance role at Humberside is followed by postings at a RAF base in the UK or abroad.
It takes between 2 to 5 years to complete a BAE Systems Apprenticeship.
If you would like to know more about a BAE Systems Apprenticeship before applying, you could also apply for Work Experience with BAE. This is open to 14 to 18 year olds, but only at some BAE sites. Placements are for 5 days, from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. BAE Systems also offers a Taster Week for 16 to 18 year olds, but only at some sites and on certain dates.
