Apprenticeships with Bosch
The Bosch Apprenticeship programme offers a number of Service Technician Apprenticeships in partnership with independent garages across the UK.
Bosch Automotive is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of car parts. In fact, Bosch was the first company to combine a magneto with a spark plug, creating the first ignition system. Independent garages all across the country rely on Bosch for a range of parts, test equipment, training and technical services to help them repair customers’ cars.
As a Service Technician Apprentice with Bosch Automotive, you will gain experience, knowledge and qualifications, with specific training on the latest automotive systems and servicing techniques, providing the first step to becoming a qualified automotive technician and a rewarding career.
The Bosch Apprenticeship programme combines Bosch training with an employment opportunity at a local independent garage. You will spend the majority of your time at this local independent garage, where you will receive on-the-job training. In addition to the knowledge, skills and practical experience gained in the workplace, you will also receive further training at the Bosch Apprenticeship Service Training Centre in Uxbridge. During the 3 year programme, you will complete 20 weeks of detailed technical training at the training centre.
The multi-million pound Bosch Service Training Centre in Uxbridge is a dedicated facility for automotive technicians. It covers over 2,000 square metres and features all the latest diagnostic and test equipment. Many automotive technicians attend comprehensive training at the Bosch Service Training Centre. Courses available include training on vehicle fundamentals through to courses on the advanced Bosch Master Technician Training Programme. Specific training courses also take place on technology areas such as hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
During a Bosch Apprenticeship, you will receive both essential theory and practical instruction, learning about automotive systems, diagnosis and repair. You will learn to diagnose, find faults and how best to repair them, how to service vehicles and carry out every day essential maintenance. Training will not only be provided on the mechanical aspects of motor vehicles, it will also cover electronic systems, ranging from engine management and emission systems to air conditioning and vehicle safety.
To ensure delivery of the highest quality training experience to apprentices, the Bosch Apprenticeship programme operates a residential training model. You will be expected to represent your employer and yourself professionally at all times in the workplace. Your reputation is our reputation.
