The Briggs Equipment Apprenticeship in Plant and Construction Maintenance provides detailed on-the-job training. In addition, candidates will complete 15 weeks block release training per year for the first 3 years at Stafford College. These two combined will give you the necessary skills to become a future Briggs Equipment engineer.
This 4 year Apprenticeship involves working on Mechanical/Electrical/Hydraulic Handling Equipment. You will carry out this work either at a customer’s premises or at one of Briggs workshop locations nationwide.
On completion of the apprenticeship framework you will be qualified to maintain, service and repair a variety of Mechanical Handling Equipment. Throughout the programme, you will receive support from the training department and a dedicated mentor.

Education Requirements for Briggs Equipment
The Education Requirements for a Briggs Equipment Apprenticeship are as follows:
- 3 GCSEs at grade D or above in English and Science. Mathematics preferred but not essential
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for all things mechanical and electrical.
