Apprenticeships with British Airways

There are a wide range of British Airways Apprenticeship roles on offer in many areas of the business. British Airways is one of the world’s leading airlines. It is also the largest carrier in the UK and carries more than 40m people a year.
British Airways flies to more than 170 places and 70 countries worldwide. The British Airways fleet has more than 300 aircraft. This includes the latest Airbus 380 and Boeing 787 which make more than 1,000 flights a week.
British Airways’ main base is at London Heathrow airport. Most BA flights take off from T5, with some also taking off from T3. It also flies from London Gatwick as well as many other airports around the UK.
It also has an Engineering division which services and maintains the fleet of aircraft. These are based at either Manchester or Newcastle. However, most British Airways Apprenticeship roles are based at London Heathrow airport.

Operations
The British Airways Engineering team provides technical support 24/7, every day of the year. British Airways has more than 2,000 highly skilled engineers who are trained to deliver the highest levels of safety. A British Airways Apprenticeship in this dept will be based at one of BA’s main hangars or workshops. These are at Heathrow, Gatwick, Glasgow, as well as South Wales.
It will take between 15 months and 3 years to complete a British Airways Apprenticeship in Operations, depending on the role.
Customer Services
The British Airways motto is “To Fly. To Serve.” Therefore, Customer Service is at the very heart of what BA does. A British Airport Apprenticeship in this dept works with one of the teams which are based at BA’s airport terminals. Most of these roles are based at either Heathrow or Gatwick. However, some roles are based at other airports in the UK or worldwide.
It will take 2 years to complete a British Airport Apprenticeship in Customer Services.
Head Office
The British Airways Head Office is based on a business park close to London Heathrow airport. A British Airways Apprenticeship at BA’s Head Office will provide admin support to the business. This could be in either Business Admin, or Revenue or Project Management.
It will take 2 or 2.5 years to complete a British Airways Apprenticeship at Head Office, depending on the role.
