Apprenticeships with Ford

The Ford Apprenticeship scheme has perhaps the widest range of roles on offer from any car brand. The company takes on more than 500 new Apprentices into the Ford dealer network every year. It also has a number of roles working directly for Ford UK, in either Engineering or IT. As a result, the Ford Apprenticeship Programme has perhaps the highest number of roles available from any car brand.

A Ford Apprenticeship can take up to 4 years to complete, depending on the role. Technical roles combine hands-on workshop training with block release at a college for further training and study. However, a non-technical role is completed at your local dealer where you will be employed as an Apprentice.

On a Ford Apprenticeship scheme, you will also receive training on the latest Ford vehicles and systems. As a Vehicle Technician, you will learn how to service, repair and maintain Ford’s current product range. During the programme, you will also attend one of Ford’s training centres which are located throughout the UK.

Ford Apprenticeship

As well as the roles on offer at your local Ford dealer, there are also some other roles with Ford UK. These include Engineering at Ford’s Technical Centre in Dunton, Essex, or IT at Ford’s UK HQ near Brentwood.

If you apply to the Engineering dept, you will spend the first 18 months at Ford’s CEME in Dagenham. After the first 18 months, you will move to one of Ford’s Engineering sites at Dunton or Dagenham for the rest of the 4 year programme.

The IT Apprenticeship is a degree level programme which also takes 4 years to complete.

As well as the Ford Apprenticeship roles below, Ford also offers a range of Graduate Jobs at its Head Office in Warley, the Ford Technical Centre in Dunton, and the Engine  Plant in East London:
