Apprenticeships with Honda
The Honda Apprenticeship programme is unique in the automotive industry, because the company offers a range of Apprenticeships for school-leavers that no other manufacturer can offer. Honda offers the “traditional” Service Technician or Parts Advisor roles with an official dealership. In addition, Honda also offers specialist apprenticeship roles in Motorcycles, Power Equipment (Lawn and Garden) and All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs).
All apprentices are trained at one of Honda’s purpose-built technical training centres, with practical workshop areas, individual training rooms, and the very latest cutting-edge equipment. The Honda Institute Centre of Excellence includes a number of classrooms, computer suites, offices and a canteen. It also features an appropriately-named ‘Wow Door’. The Wow Door opens out onto a balcony from where you see a fantastic space filled with all the latest Honda products and technology.
Honda Apprenticeship – Cars
An outstanding opportunity to receive first class training and the opportunity to work on the latest innovative range of cars renowned for sophisticated engineering, innovative technology, outstanding reliability and advanced safety. The training also covers modules on servicing and maintaining electric vehicles and vehicles with hybrid powertrain systems. This training ensures Apprentices are well-equipped to deal with the increasing number of EV or Hybrid cars Honda now offers.
Honda Apprenticeship – Motorcycle
Designed specifically for individuals who have a passion for motorcycles and who would relish the opportunity to work on Honda’s range of world renowned products, from the Vision 110 Scooter to the world famous CBR1000RR Fireblade and the most revolutionary and innovative models such as the CBR600RR Super Sports machine.
Honda Apprenticeship – Power Equipment
Provides you with the opportunity to work on the entire range of power equipment products, including the latest ride-on and pedestrian lawn mowers which feature engines from the world’s number one engine manufacturer – Honda.
Honda Apprenticeship – ATV
Provides an exciting opportunity to work on the world’s leading range of ATV products. Honda’s ATVs feature some of the most revolutionary technology in the industry, like Electric Power Steering and Independent Rear Suspension. Honda’s feature packed machines are all built with the same purpose in mind: to work and play hard.
Honda Apprenticeship – Parts Advisors
Trained and developed so that they can make an effective contribution to the operation of the Parts Department in Honda Dealerships across the UK, whether in a Car, Motorcycle or Power Equipment dealership.
Roles Available with Honda
The following Honda Apprenticeship roles are available at a Honda dealership nationwide, depending on local business needs:
- Car Technician – 3 years, with 19 weeks of training
- Motorcycle Technician – 3 years, with 17 weeks of training
- Power Equipment Technician – 2 years, with 14 weeks of training
- ATV Technician (All-Terrain Vehicles) – 3 years, with 19 weeks of training
- Parts Advisor – 18 months, with 6 weeks of training
Once you have completed the initial training period, there are still plenty of opportunities within the Honda dealer network to progress and develop your career further. Opportunities include becoming a Repair Technician, Workshop Controller, Customer Technical Advisor or eventually a Service, Aftersales or Parts Manager.

- 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above in any subject
When can I apply for an apprenticeship at Honda?
Please refer to the Honda Apprenticeship Careers website for details of when to apply for a role with the company. The website has a postcode search for you to find a dealership local to you. However, bear in mind that most Honda Apprenticeship roles are advertised during the first half of the year, with roles generally starting in August or September, in-line with the end of the academic year.
