Apprenticeships with Jaguar Land Rover
There are a wide range of Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship roles on offer at the company’s various manufacturing and engineering sites in the UK. Jaguar Land Rover has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to Apprenticeships by consistently recruiting significant numbers of apprentices into the business. Since 2012, more than 730 apprentices started their careers with through the Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship scheme. The two brands have 6 different UK sites:
Castle Bromwich: Home to the Jaguar F-TYPE, XJ, XF and XK models. Facilities including a body and assembly plant, as well as a press shop and paint shop. There are 3,200 people employed on the site, which was originally built in 1938 to produce Spitfires.
Gaydon: This engineering facility is home to Land Rover design and also boasts the UK’s largest hybrid engineering team. The site also has design studios, chassis and body engineering, CAD workstations, a virtual-reality suite, climatic wind tunnels, rig-test and engine test beds, an electro-magnetic chamber and materials laboratories. There is also an extensive test track and off-road testing.
Halewood: One production line. Two models. Halewood is the home of the award-winning Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Discovery Sport. More than 4,000 people are employed here and volume has trebled since 2010. In addition, Halewood is the most awarded Jaguar Land Rover facility and the 300-acre site boasts a full body and assembly plant.
Solihull: Home to Land Rover since production commenced in 1948, and now also home to the Defender, Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The site covers 300 acres and employs 6,000 people. Furthermore, members of the public can test their on- and off-road driving skills at the Land Rover Experience Centre.
Whitley: As well as being Jaguar Land Rover’s global headquarters, this site is home to Jaguar Design and Jaguar Land Rover’s corporate teams. These include Marketing, Sales & Service, Finance, Legal, HR, IT and Purchasing. There is also a state-of-the-art anechoic chamber on the site.
Wolverhampton: The company’s flagship Engine Manufacturing Centre opened in 2013. It is one of the most cutting-edge facilities of its kind in the UK and employs nearly 1,400 people. Manufacturing a family of all-new low-emission 4-cylinder Jaguar Land Rover petrol and diesel engines, the plant brings JLR’s engine supply in-house.
Jaguar Land Rover also has a growing network of over 150 dealerships that combine both brands in one location, where a number of Apprenticeships are also available in a variety of different roles.

Education Requirements for Jaguar Land Rover
Candidates interested in a Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship should be able to demonstrate having achieved the following qualifications:
- Maths (higher paper) and English Language, as well as 3 GCSEs including a Natural Science, Engineering or Technology related subject at C Grade or above
- Alternatively, an Engineering vocational qualification Level 3 of 90 credit value (540 GLH)
Engineering Degree Apprenticeship:
- As Advanced Apprenticeship plus two A Levels to include Maths
- In addition, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Technology or Engineering subject at C Grade or above
- Alternatively, A Level Maths at C Grade or above plus an Engineering Level 3 qualification of 120 credit value
Candidates interested in a Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship with a Jaguar Land Rover Dealership should be able to demonstrate having achieved the following qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs at A-C preferably including English and Maths.
When can I apply for an apprenticeship at Jaguar Land Rover?
Please refer to the Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship website for details of specific entry dates for each role. However, the usual timetable for recruitment process for these type of roles tends to be:
Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship: from October onwards, for starting the following summer.
Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship with the Jaguar Land Rover Dealer Network: from March onwards, for starting in August or September.
