The Terex Trucks Apprenticeship programme offers a range of Engineering and Business Apprenticeships. These are based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Motherwell, Scotland.

The company was originally founded in 1909 in the USA as the Euclid Crane and Hoist Company. In the UK, Terex Trucks can trace it heritage to 1950 when it was first established in Motherwell, Scotland. Since 2014, the company has been part of the Volvo Group, operating as a division of Volvo Construction Equipment.
Terex Trucks manufactures a range of high quality, reliable and productive equipment for the heavy construction, quarry and mining industries. The product range consists of 3 Articulated Haulers and 4 Rigid Haulers:
Articulated Haulers TA250, TA300 and TA400:
Terex Trucks range of off-highway articulated dump trucks have an international reputation for their reliability, flexibility and performance. These highly productive articulated dump trucks are perfect for construction, quarrying and mining applications. Hauling capabilities range from 25 tonnes to 38 tonnes.
Rigid Haulers TR45, TR60, TR70 and TR100:
Terex Trucks Rigid Dump Trucks get the job done. They perform extremely well in tough mining conditions and have a low cost of ownership. These trucks are built to haul and built to last. The company’s range of Rigid Dump Trucks provides the perfect balance of power, torque, and effective gearing coupled with optimum weight distribution to move more material in less time.
About the Terex Trucks Apprenticeship programme.
The Terex Trucks Apprenticeship programme takes approximately four years to complete. During this time, you will have your own dedicated mentor and will work on specific projects. You’ll work alongside and learn from expert engineers, technicians and experienced team members. At the end of the programme, you will achieve an SVQ level 2, SVQ level 3 and an NC in an appropriate engineering and quality or procurement discipline. Further studies up to HNC/HND level and beyond are also possible.
Apprentices receive training both at the Terex Trucks Apprenticeship site in Newhouse, Motherwell, and at training providers, EKGTA, in East Kilbride and Training Matters, Hillington Innovation Centre, Glasgow.

Roles Available with Terex Trucks
In 2017, the Terex Trucks Apprenticeship programme recruited for Apprentices in the following three areas:
- Craft Apprenticeships:
- You should be a hands-on type of person who enjoys craftsmanship.
- Technician and Quality Apprenticeships:
- You should be a hands-on type of person who enjoys problem-solving.
- Procurement Apprenticeships:
- You should have a keen interest in supply chain management and procurement.
Education Requirements for Terex Trucks
To apply for a Terex Trucks Apprenticeship, candidates must have a genuine interest in engineering, quality or procurement and have the following qualifications:
Craft apprenticeships: At least four National 5 grades at level C or above (or the equivalent), including English, Maths and a Science or Technical subject.
Technician and Quality apprenticeships: At least four National 5 grades at level C or above (or the equivalent). In addition, you should have two higher grades, one of which should be either Maths, Science (preferably Physics) or a Technical subject.
Procurement apprenticeship: At least four National 5 grades at level C or above, including Maths and English (or the equivalent) or have relevant working experience.
