Armed Forces Apprenticeships: RAF

The Royal Air Force (RAF) offers 24 Armed Forces Apprenticeships at 38 RAF sites all across the UK. Many RAF staff are also posted abroad, so there may be the chance to travel in the future.

As the Armed Forces Apprenticeships with the RAF cover many areas, the GCSEs needed can vary for each role. For example, you do not need to have any GCSEs to apply for a role in Logistics or Catering. You will need at least 2 GCSEs for a role in HR, or at least 3 GCSEs for a role as a Vehicle Technician.

General Dynamics

General Dynamics supplies the UK MoD with armoured fighting vehicles, avionic systems and tactical comms. It also makes a range of armoured fighting vehicles at two sites in South Wales: Merthyr Tydfil and Oakdale. The Hasting site designs and builds Avionic Systems for military fighter jets, as well as helicopters. It also manages the British Army’s Tactical Comms System from its Oakdale site in South Wales.
