In September 2015 The Automated Technology Group was acquired by Wood Group, an international energy services company with more than $7 billion sales and operating in more than 50 countries. The company currently operates from 6 different locations in the UK and Slovakia:
Headquarters – Silsoe
35,000 sq ft premises feature state-of-the-art office space and 20,000 sq ft of modern manufacturing facilities for control panel production.
Technical Centre – Kings Norton
Technical operations, including virtual manufacturing services, as well as some sales and administration activities.
Service Centre – Stafford
Service operations, as well as some sales, operational and technical activities. Video conferencing facilities connect to other premises and customer sites.
Systems Division – Northampton
Closely linked to the robotics and simulation teams, and accommodates special purpose machinery design, building, testing and installation activities.
Cabinet Production – Bedford
Manufacturing facility for cabinets and other enclosures .
Support Centre – Bratislava, Slovakia
The Automated Technology Group’s first operation to be set up outside the UK. The facility currently focuses on staff recruitment and will be used as a base for engineers and project managers to support key projects in Slovakia and the surrounding countries.
The Automated Technology Group’s graduate programme is designed to give candidates with a relevant degree the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the engineering sector. Applicants qualified at Level 3 or above may enter directly at Trainee Engineer status and graduates follow a professional development pathway aligned to their discipline.
