Graduate Jobs with AVID Technology

AVID Technology is recognised as a leader in the field of systems electrification, heavy duty vehicle electrification and hybridisation, and it offers a range of Engineering Graduate Jobs at its base in Cramlington, Northumberland.
Its core competency is in the design, validation and manufacture of high integrity electronics and electric motors which can also be used in applications ranging from electric pumps and fans for high performance electric and hybrid vehicle powertrain thermal management, actuation and propulsion in robotics to primary traction drive motors in electric trucks.
AVID Technology also develop systems to improve the efficiency of marine and stationary power engines through waste heat recovery and parasitic loss reduction.
AVID Technology works across a range of different industries:
- Electric & Hybrid Vehicles
- Bus & Coach
- Off-Highway Vehicles
- OEM Components
- Power Generation
- Robotics
- Marine
- Fleet Operators
The company has a highly skilled engineering team and a number of patents pending on our unique technology. AVID continues to grow by investing into key areas of research and development in collaboration with its customer base of leading vehicle manufacturers and operators.
In 2017, AVID secured a major contract with GKN to take over responsibility for the design, manufacture and sales of the EVO Axial Flux electric motor technology. The company also secured a major contract with the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) to design and install a waste heat recovery system for marine vessels to convert waste heat into valuable electricity.
AVID Technology’s key product areas include:
- 48V Mild Hybrid Systems: reduces parasitic loads on the engine and allows operating temperature to be optimised and reduces fuel consumption
- Electric Motors: EVO motors have one of the highest usable power and torque densities of any electric vehicle drive motor available on the market today
- eFan Micro Hybrid Systems: AVID’s eFan Micro Hybrid System (MHS) replaces a conventional engine cooling system
- eFans: AVID Technology’s FiL-11 eFan is the most powerful, durable and efficient electric fan units available in the market
- ePumps: high performance oil pumps and water cooland pumps specifically designed for demanding applications in high performance electric and hybrid vehicles
- Alternators and Crank Assist: The Power Series Alternator Range consists of a number of high performance, high efficiency brushless alternators
- Thermal Systems: a range of cooling fans and liquid charge air cooling solutions to improve engine efficiency and reduce emissions
- Custom Solutions: bespoke solutions for custom development, including high efficiency brushless motors, robust power electronics and system controllers.
