This success means the company is now making the investments requires to offer passengers increased capacity, extra services, smarter ticketing, on-board Internet access and £multi-million station upgrades until 2029. Furthermore, as part of these improvements to the network, C2C will soon be the UK’s first fully accessible rail franchise.
To manage the growth of the company, C2C are looking for Graduates to join in the following key business areas:
A 4 year programme which is part of the Accredited Railway Engineering Scheme, and run in partnership with Rail Delivery Group. The programme is governed by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, as well as the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
You will complete placements which cover hands-on Maintenance, Maintenance Management, Technical Investigations and Engineering Standards, Project Engineering, Vehicle Build and Engineering Design, as well as being a part of the c2c Network.
A mentor from the Senior Management team will offer support and guidance on your career development with C2C throughout the programme.
During this programme, you will gain an understanding of the whole company through a succession of 3 to 8 month rotations in the C2C Headquarters. These rotations will cover Finance, Property, Commercial, Customer Services and HR functions. The rotations are followed by an external placement with another part of the railway network. Examples of companies for external placements include Network Rail, the Rail Delivery Group or the Department for Transport. As a result, these external placements provide you with the breadth of experience and insight into the industry, which are essential for a role as a General Manager within the business.
With a passion for people management, you will discover what makes the C2C business really tick. A series of 3 to 6 month rotations which covers operations such as Station Management, Train Planning and Control Centre. These are followed by relevant project management placements and an external placement with Network Rail.

To apply for a place on this scheme, you must have gained a good M.Eng degree, accredited by IMechE or IET. Your proven passion for transport engineering will accompany evidence of practical problem solving and leadership potential.
You will have achieved a 2:1 degree. The company will also look for real evidence of business acumen, leadership potential and plenty of ambition.
To be considered, you will need to have achieved at least a 2:1 degree. Your energy, intellect and ambition will show you have the makings of a senior manager.
