Graduate Jobs with Red Bull Racing F1

Red Bull Racing F1 offers a number of Graduate Jobs at their headquarters in Milton Keynes.

2017 marked the team’s 13th year competing in F1. As of October 2017, the Red Bull Racing F1 cars have claimed:

  • 54 wins
  • 58 poles
  • 147 podiums
  • 53 fastest laps
  • 4 World Championships

Since the team’s creation in 2004, the team has been guided by Team Principal Christian Horner, with cars designed by legendary F1 designer, Adrian Newey.

The team has also benefited from being able to attract a number of famous drivers who have worn the Red Bull Racing F1 overalls: David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel – who won 4 double World Championships in a row with the team.

The current driver line-up of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen has proved to be a worthy pairing, with both drivers willing to take risks on the track in order to put their car ahead and gain points for the team and the championship.

Located in Milton Keynes, Red Bull Racing F1 is responsible for designing and manufacturing the Team’s Formula One Cars. This covers many areas of engineering, including: Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics and Simulation, Mechanical Structures, Transmission, Composites, Hydraulics, Electronics, Production Engineering, Control Systems, Research & Development, as well as Data Management.

Red Bull Racing F1 also offers a number of Industrial Placements for Graduates who are studying Aerodynamics and are interested in applying their knowledge to one of the most competitive and constantly changing forms of motor sport.

Roles Available with Red Bull Racing F1

Red Bull Racing F1 offers three different Industrial Placements for Graduates studying Aerodynamics:

Aerodynamics Technology Development

  • Creating new systems and techniques for the wind tunnel, CFD and track environments as well as the associated test rigs.
  • Working with state of the art technologies to help further the understanding of Formula One racing car aerodynamics.
  • Develop problem solving and communication skills through working closely with aerodynamics, software, mechanical as well as electronics engineers.

Aerodynamics Analysis

  • Analysis and reporting of aerodynamics data from wind tunnel, CFD and track.
  • To be actively involved in accessing, integrating and developing novel aerodynamic measurement technologies.
  • Support APG at race and test events as required in order to inform decision-making and enable fast reporting of the results with relevant context.
  • Planning and operation support of wind tunnel programs in the Red Bull Technology wind tunnel facility.
  • Support the documentation of Red Bull Technology testing and analysis techniques.
  • Define off-body flow measurement requirements on track and in the wind tunnel; as well as assisting the model shop with manufacture, and analyse and report the results as required.

Aerodynamics Development

  • Analysis and reporting of aerodynamics data from wind tunnel, CFD and track.
  • Contribute to the aerodynamic design of the car.
  • Preparation and running of CFD models.
  • Planning and operation support of wind tunnel programs in the Red Bull Technology wind tunnel facility.
  • Support the documentation of Red Bull Technology design, testing and analysis techniques.

Education Requirements for Red Bull Racing F1

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualities to apply for an Industrial Placement with Red Bull Racing F1:

  • Aerodynamics Technology Development: studying towards an aeronautical, mechanical or software engineering degree, be computer literate and prepared to carry out hands-on tasks. In addition, knowledge of programming languages such as Matlab, Simulink or Python would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Aerodynamics Analysis: demonstrate an active interest in aerodynamics, be studying towards a mechanical/aeronautical engineering degree with a strong aerodynamics content, be computer literate and prepared to carry out hands-on tasks.
  • Aerodynamics Development: demonstrate an active interest in aerodynamics, be studying towards a mechanical/aeronautical engineering degree with a strong aerodynamics content, be computer literate and prepared to carry out hands-on tasks.
When can I apply for a Graduate Job at Red Bull Racing F1

Red Bull Racing F1 advertises its roles in September and October each year, with the deadline for applications at the end of October.
