Graduate Jobs with Scottish Water
The Scottish Water Graduate Jobs programme offers a variety of challenging and interesting roles at locations all across Scotland. After completing the 2 year programme, you will take on a specialist technical role within the organisation.
Scottish Water is a publicly owned company, which answers to the Scottish Parliament and the people of Scotland. The company is the sole provider of water and waste water services to an area of over 30,000 square miles. This is the equivalent to one-third of the area of Britain. However, because Scotland has a longer coastline – over 6,800 miles – and a small and relatively dispersed population, this actually requires a large number of small water and waste water treatment works. All of this means that Scottish Water is the fourth largest water and waste water services provider in the UK.
The company provides 1.34 billion litres of drinking water every day to 5 million customers in 2.49 million households across Scotland. It also takes away more than 900 million litres of waste water, which treated before it is returned to the rivers and seas.
Scottish Water’s head office is in Dunfermline with principal offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Stepps and Inverness. The company employs almost 3,400 people, all across Scotland.
In addition to the Scottish Water Graduate Jobs available for those who have completed their University studies, the company also offers a range of Summer Internships.
The Summer Internship scheme welcomes talents from all disciplines including Science, Engineering, Technology and Asset Management. During this three-month paid placement, you will support key business areas on innovative projects and work methods. This means that you will undertake a real job working within a team of highly-skilled professionals.
Scottish Water’s Summer Internships run for 12 weeks commencing in June and take place in a number of locations throughout Scotland.
