Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre

The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre has a wide range of aircraft exhibits and projects in restoration at their base Newquay, Cornwall.

Visitors can take a stroll through the Hardened Aircraft Shelter or sit inside the Hawker Harrier jet, as well as several other classic aircraft. You can also chat to the experienced team who will only be too happy to tell you about the history and previous roles of the fleet of aircraft.

Outside the hangar, you can jump aboard and experience other iconic jets from yesteryear. Visitors can take the guided VC10 and Vickers Varsity tours. In addition, you can enjoy the open grounds next to RAF St Mawgan and Newquay Airport, or watch the aircraft arrivals and departures.

The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre also has a great collection of cold-war aircraft, including the iconic airliner BAC 1-11. In addition, the museum has the magnificent air-to-air refuelling legend VC10 and a collection of light aircraft to learn about, explore and enjoy.

The cockpit or flight decks of most aircraft are accessible for visitors to sit in – perfect for that special photograph. Consequently, the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre makes a wonderful day out for all the family.

Furthermore, the museum’s fantastic restoration team have restored several iconic aircraft, including a Vickers Varsity, a Hawker Hunter T8, a Hawker Hunter F4 and a Harrier GR3. They also have two current projects underway: a Sea Hawk and the iconic Lightning, with other restoration projects to follow.

The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre also has an authentic 1950s American style café with an outside picnic area.
